Panglao Chocolate Hills Hostel, Panglao Island

I found this hotel to be a great spot for those venturing into freediving, especially for budget travelers. The accommodations are basic but clean, and I appreciated the daily yoga sessions and the delicious meals available at the restaurant. However, the noisy environment from cats and roosters and the lack of hot water were less than ideal. Overall, it's an affordable choice but may not suit everyone.

However, the shared fan room had some major downsides, like thin walls that let in a lot of noise and a broken toilet seat. Plus, the recycled seawater for the shower was a bit too strong and annoying. Overall, while the location is decently close to the beach, the room situation wasn't ideal for comfort and privacy.
